Over two decades in cloud architecture and cybersecurity have shaped my expertise in building secure, scalable solutions for critical national systems. My foundation in technology began in the United States Marine Corps, leading a Network Operations Center at NSA Hawaii – an experience that sparked my ongoing focus on national security and technology.
Post-military service, I developed core expertise in IT service management and system integration during twelve years at Allegis Group. This experience proved essential for my later work in cloud architecture and security at Computer Sciences Corporation, where I led distributed computing initiatives that significantly reduced operational costs while enhancing system efficiency.
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), I've progressed through roles including Principal Security Solutions Architect, Senior Manager of Enterprise Support, and currently Principal Technical Business Developer. Each position has strengthened my ability to align complex technical solutions with critical business objectives, particularly in National Security and Defense sectors.
Professional development and knowledge sharing are central to my approach. I regularly present at major industry events including AWS re:Invent, re:Inforce, Splunk .Conf, and AWS Public Sector Summit DC. Through developing AWS Security workshops and authoring whitepapers on Election Security and Classic Intrusion Analysis Framework, I've helped organizations build robust cloud security capabilities while establishing technical standards for government implementations.
My technical contributions extend to mentoring veterans transitioning into cloud security roles. This work, combined with AWS Professional and Security Specialty certifications and an MBA from Boston University, reflects my commitment to both technical excellence and practical business outcomes.
Recent work has focused on integrating AI with cloud security infrastructure through several key projects: an AI platform that transforms complex PDF documents into actionable insights; a cyberpunk-themed AWS security training platform featuring narrative-driven CTF challenges; and a serverless multi-model AI service using Claude-3 and GPT-4 to generate creative analogies for AWS services.
As Worldwide Technical Leader for AWS's National Security, Defense and Public Safety Technical Feedback Community, I bring together technical industry leaders from across the globe to solve common challenges, develop scalable solutions, and create public technical resources through blogs, workshops, and reference architectures. This worldwide collaboration enables sharing of best practices and innovative approaches across different regions and security domains.
I'm based in Annapolis, Maryland, and bring experience from both the Marine Corps and the tech industry to solve challenges in cloud technology and national security. My focus is on staying ahead of rapid changes and delivering solutions that work.
